PERPIGNAN NOIR – he’s the head-turning winner of the 2015 Trakehner stallion grading.

Breeding director Lars Gehrmann describes him as follows: “Perpignan Noir embodies the modern Trakehner type, he’s a pure breed. He’s the winning type that you’ve always wished for: with a large frame, long legs, effective movement combining meaningful mechanics and light-footedness in equal measure. He stands on four big feet and has a very correct conformation. Every day we have seen a top-class winner; a stallion with beautiful proportions, always focused, and anyone who sees him is impressed by his grace and nobility.

The maternal dynasty of the widely acclaimed champion stallion from the Trakehner stallion market of 2015 has always been a fundamental pillar of the Trakehner breed – and that at the highest international level. The Pelargonie stock is rooted in the founding mare Halbmond by Bucephalus, who in 1777 created the basis for the rise of the Trakehner main marebook no. 8, right at the mother stud in Trakehnen. On the paternal side, Schwarzgold combines the best high-performance dressage blood from the world vice champion Imperio and the legendary sire Consul.

Schwarzgold was licensed for breeding in Neumünster in 2011 and honoured as a premium stallion. By now he has qualified several times for the national young stallion championships. Schwarzgold should be highly interesting from a breeding point of view due to his high proportion of thoroughbred blood.

IMPERIO, who was awarded the title of “Masterhengst 2016”, can already look back on an extraordinary career. He was reserve winner of the stallion licensing, Trakehner champion, world vice champion, German champion and winner at Aachen and Münster under rider Hubertus Schmidt. Perpignan Noir is being prepared for competition by the experienced international dressage trainer Ralf Kornprobst.
This is a stallion whose breeding and sporting qualities are just as interesting as his looks. We look forward to his first crop of foals in 2017.
